Join Me And Let's Challenge Ourselves!

So happy to be out of the exercise rut!

Last year in early December, I found a system that helped me lose 10 pounds btw December and January. And right after Thanksgiving, I’ll be teaching my students in The Second Half S.P.A.R.K. School what I did.

They are hard at work delving into who they truly are and what they want out of the time they have left and it’s so amazing to see how much they’ve grown in just a few short weeks.

Now that they’re rocking’ it on the inside, I’m gonna show them my tips and tricks for getting healthy on the outside.

And lord knows, I’ll be joining them because I myself could use a reset.

In my mind waiting until January to focus on good health is the mindset of most and I strive to be different. What kind of person STARTS focusing on weight loss right before the holidays?!?!
‍‍‍
Because I am not your average kind of person!

I like to change the status quo ways of thinking!!!

So what are you putting off to...

Dream It and Believe In It!

life advice motivation Oct 24, 2020

It looks so simple... Just a small patio with a built-in fireplace.

But it’s a dream I’ve had for a long time...

It’s in the vision I recorded last spring and listen to every day.

My husband kept saying “no”- we didn’t need it.

But never let anyone squash your dreams! I sure didn’t!!!

I kept listening to that vision every day. And believing he’d eventually come around.

And then the universe delivered an opportunity... I was challenged by one of my coaches to commit to something I desired. To make it happen!

The funny thing is... it’s so easy to talk ourselves out of something because it’s silly or extravagant or you shouldn’t spend the money..

But why not make it EASY to step into being the Dream Maker? Why not?!?!

Why wait?

We only have today.

If you desire something, go after it with complete faith that the universe WANTS it for you too.

If you operate in alignment with goodness and abundance, all you dream of, or something...

I Couldn't Just Sit and Watch!

I thought it was kind of sad that no parents were out there jumping with their kids. I got my grandkids tickets then decided to join them after watching for 15 minutes!

How could I not?!?! SO.MUCH.FUN!!! ‍
I had to see if I still had a flip in me!

Would it be weird if I went back there with no kids? LOL!!!

My commitment to my new grandson!

When I look at this little guy, I think about how much I want to be a part of his life. Being a grandma is different than being a mom because you know how precious time is and how fast it can fly by...

I want him to know me - the VIBRANT and FUN-FILLED me! I don't want him to ever see me as the old fuddy duddy who can't do things.

That thought motivates me like no other. It makes me WANT to stay focused on my health. It pushes me to press play & do my workout every day.

I'll be 77 when I go to his high school graduation. I'll be 81 when I go to his college graduation. And chances are I'll be close to 90 when I go to his wedding.

The images of those events in my head drives a deeper level of commitment to the habits I've developed of eating healthy and exercising

How big is your commitment to your own personal health and to being there for special events 30 years from now?

If it's not big, I urge you to change that TODAY! And COMMIT!!!!

If you need a support system, I'm still...

11 Years Ago. 1 Action. Many Changed Lives.

Humpback.jpg

Today is the 11th anniversary of the day I took my first step into a new life. I had no idea at the time how much my life would change, but all I knew is that I wasn’t happy and I was searching.

Eleven years ago today I met my now husband for lunch. It was I who reached out to him a few days beforehand. And he was no stranger to me. In fact, he was my college sweetheart.

We had had a torrid love affair back in the late 70s. I say torrid because it was the kind that you read about in novels, the kind that comes around once in a lifetime, if you’re lucky.

Unfortunately, things happened that were not repairable in the relationship at the time so I decided to move on. Looking back, I know that I forced my brain to move on and was quite successful at that, but my heart, which you have much less control over, never really did.

But I let my brain lead. And I found love again, married and had 2 daughters. I built a successful career, had a beautiful home, wonderful,...

It's Amazing How Busy Life is With Little Ones Around You

I have a new appreciation for all you moms & grandmas who manage to get in your at-home workouts with kids at home!!!

These 2 critters just left to head back home this morning...  The house is strangely quiet, and I will miss them like crazy but it's time to get back into my regular routine.

It's amazing how busy life is when little ones are around and how little you seem to get done! But I wouldn't trade my time with them for the world!!! <3 <3 <3

Truth is that I went totally off the rails with my eating and exercise over the past couple of weeks so I am actually looking forward to digging in and being super ON POINT over the next 3 weeks with the ladies in my online fitness accountability group.

I've eaten out way too much, included too much alcohol in my meal plan (vacations & wedding oh my!), and either skipped my workouts or chose the easiest ones to do.

Now it's time to get serious, commit to ONE 21 DAY PROGRAM, stick to the prescribed...

Patience Makes Perfect!

Sometimes patience is worth it!!!

We moved into our house in March 2013. I wanted urns for our front porch. I looked for awhile but couldn't find anything that a) I liked and b) was sturdy enough it wouldn't blow over if we had a strong windstorm.

Last Christmas my husband found these. But they've sat empty for a year.

And then last month Wegman's had their grand opening. I knew it the minute I saw them!!!! Little blue spruce trees! Just like the one my dad planted in our front yard of our house.

They fit perfectly and they also were perfect for some outside Christmas lights. (We're not big on outside decorations!)

I love it when a dream becomes a reality. The front porch that I envisioned is finally here!!! And it makes me smile every time I look at it! #adreamcometrue#myperfecturns

Fight for What is Right!

FREE DRINK!!!! Sometimes you just gotta fight for what's right!

I ordered a specific coffee. It wasn't complicated. I ordered it as a Grande. I got a Venti. She said she wouldn't charge me which was the right thing to do.

I then tasted it and discovered it was not what I ordered. She said she'd remake it but she would have to charge me extra for the drink I was supposed to get. WRONG!!!

When you make a mistake, make it right. Don't screw up, inconvenience the customer and then charge them extra even if it's the true cost of what they purchased. I've NEVER been charged for their mistake at Starbucks!!!

I asked if there was a manager I could talk to. She said she can call him. In the meantime, the barista made me the drink I should have gotten.

Good thing the manager attended the "customer is always right" school. If not, there would have been an adult shit fit right in the Vegas airport. And I might have even gone Live here on Facebook. #thepowerofsocialmedia ...

Is Your Water Dirty of Clear?

"You're mind is like an empty glass; it'll hold anything you put into it. You put in sensational news, salacious headlines, talk-show rants, and you're pouring dirty water into your glass.

If you've got dark, dismal, worrisome water in your glass, everything you create will be filtered through that muddy mess because that's what you'll be thinking about. Garbage in, garbage out. All that drive-time radio yak about murders, conspiracy, deaths, economy, and political battles drives your thinking process, which drives your expectations, which drives your creative output.

That IS bad news. But just like a dirty glass, if you flush it with clean, clear water under the faucet long enough, eventually you'll end up with a glass of pure, clear water.

What is that clear water?

Positive, inspirational, and supportive input and ideas. Stories of aspiration, people who, despite challenges, are overcoming obstacles and achieving great things. Strategies of success, prosperity, health, love, and...

Live Life! Face Your Fears!

I suggest you try this... Don't let fear of change stop you from living life with passion. It might be scary to do something different, but the fear doesn't compare to what's waiting for you on the other side.

And honestly, I've never known anyone to die from making a change. It's the opposite.... You will start living better than before!!!
