BIG NEWS!

And this grandma couldn’t be more excited about it!

I've had to keep this quiet but now the pumpkin is out of the patch!  #thoughttheyweredone

Grandchild #5 is on its way!!! And since she's older now, we'll get to find out the sex in just 3 weeks!

I have a feeling it's a girl this go round. Mollybean wanted a girl with the last one. I was with her the day we found out her mommy was having a boy and she shed a few tears. But fortunately, the universe was on her side because she lost her first tooth that night and the Tooth Fairy paid her a visit, distracting her from the news of her new baby brother! LOL!

So I think the universe is gonna make her wish come true and give her the baby sister she’s been wishing for! Lord knows we need some more girls in this family!!! The boys are outnumbering us!

Friends for Over 40 Years

aging health Sep 29, 2018

It's not often that I get to spend time with these amazing women but every time we gather it is a treasure to me.

I met 2 of them when I was 17, a college freshman, and they were randomly assigned as my roommate and suitemate. How likely is it that we'd end up being as close as sisters still 42 years later?

And the other entered our lives 2 years later when she came to our school as a freshman. We all just clicked. ‍‍ We asked her to move into our apartment, that had no room, so we converted our dining room into a bedroom & made it work!!!

When you find "your people" you just know, and you hang onto them and value that bond.

We've experienced quite a bit through the years... boyfriends, weddings, children, divorces, serious illnesses, loss of parents, heartache, many hairstyles, and lots & lots of shopping!!!

We like to focus on the fun, the positive, the future, and the adventures to come. These girls are always with me. Even when they're not.

My commitment to my new grandson!

When I look at this little guy, I think about how much I want to be a part of his life. Being a grandma is different than being a mom because you know how precious time is and how fast it can fly by...

I want him to know me - the VIBRANT and FUN-FILLED me! I don't want him to ever see me as the old fuddy duddy who can't do things.

That thought motivates me like no other. It makes me WANT to stay focused on my health. It pushes me to press play & do my workout every day.

I'll be 77 when I go to his high school graduation. I'll be 81 when I go to his college graduation. And chances are I'll be close to 90 when I go to his wedding.

The images of those events in my head drives a deeper level of commitment to the habits I've developed of eating healthy and exercising

How big is your commitment to your own personal health and to being there for special events 30 years from now?

If it's not big, I urge you to change that TODAY! And COMMIT!!!!

If you need a support system, I'm still...

Announcing My Fourth Grandchild Matthew Harrison Wallace!

aging family health love Aug 03, 2018

I can’t believe it’s the first day of August!!! July was a very BIG MONTH for me... but perhaps an even bigger month for my youngest daughter as she & her husband welcomed their firstborn!

I became a grandmother for the 4th time on July 12th which means I now have 3 grandsons and one granddaughter - and yet another birthday to remember!!! LOL!

In case you missed him on my social media, here is the handsome Mathew Harrison Wallace, Jr. He is destined for dimples because both of his parents have them!

I feel so blessed that my children have had easy births and healthy children. #knockonwood

Not only did I welcome a new grandchild but I also had my 3 older grandchildren come for a visit this month. In fact, they just left last Saturday! I was responsible for the 19 month old for just a couple of nights so I wasn’t on "watch-him-like-a-hawk" duty for too long. He is into everything and moves quite fast so it was exhausting....

Why Justify Made Me Cry

I know some people may not understand why I am in tears seeing Justify win the Triple Crown....

Do you have any idea how AMAZING that is?!?! TWICE IN 40 years!

I am an animal lover. I am especially a horse lover. I used to own one. I used to ride every day. I loved riding. It was such a passion of mine.

I've been thinking about starting again. It's been in my mind since last summer when I took my granddaughter to her first riding lesson.

I think it's time. No more just thinking! I'm going to call tomorrow and get started.

If it makes you cry, DO IT, right?
Thank you Justify, for reigniting a long idle passion.

This is What I Did on my Lunch Hour

aging health Jun 02, 2018

So excited about my new porch carpet!!!! And I'm impressed my husband picked it out!

THIS is what I did on my lunch hour today... Hot date at Lowe's!

He realized the gray in the carpet's border would match our floor. But look how it brings the beige color in the cushions together with the gray in the floor.

I would have never picked this one out because I'm not big on gray but once he pointed it out, I thought it was worth a shot.

I'm ecstatic!!!! It couldn't be more perfect! I just want to sit and look at it...

Anyone Who Has Chronic Pain Needs to Read This Book...

aging health Feb 01, 2018

Anyone who has chronic pain needs to read this book... And I'm only on page 1!!!

"Pain and other chronic symptoms are physical manifestations of unresolved internal conflict. Symptoms surface as an instinctual mechanism for self survival.

They are messages from the inner self wanting to be heard, but ego takes center stage in heights the truth within the shadows of the unconscious mind: which is the body. One purpose of these physical symptoms is to keep the individual focused on his physical body, and away from the surfacing emotions.

This is referred to as Tension Myoneural syndrome, TMS, which includes acute and chronic nerve pain as well as muscular pain and a wide variety of other symptoms.

T = Tension, the result of anger buried in the body
M = Myoneural, muscles and nerves
S = Syndrome, a collection of symptoms

TMS is the cause of the current pandemic of back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, migraine, hip pain, knee pain, wrist and hand pain, carpal tunnel pain, mouth...

My Whole Life I Was Always the Youngest

aging health Jan 12, 2018

My whole life I was always the youngest...

I was the younger sister.
I started Kindergarten at 4 years old.
I graduated high school at 17.
I was the youngest of my roommates in college.

Now it seems like I'm always the oldest!
(except when I'm around my husband's friends! LOL!!!!)

But I never FEEL like I'm older!!! I always feel like I fit right in.

Maybe it's my mindset. Maybe it's because I work out and feel so strong & healthy. Maybe it's because I'm around people who accept me because we think so much alike

Whatever it is, I like it and I want to keep on feeling this way!!!

Please Pass this Info Along! You May Save a Life!

aging health Nov 22, 2017

Please pass this message along!!! You may save a life!

These are my college bestie’s before and after pics! Not the typical before/afters I share.

She is DAMN LUCKY!!!!

She noticed a spot on her arm. Doesn’t look like much, does it? Certainly not anything bad. She didn’t think it was anything but a nuisance to look at.

The ONLY reason she went to the Dermatologist was because her daughter was getting married and she wanted it removed or frozen off. She told me it was only for vanity reasons.

Unfortunately it turned out to be an aggressive type of melanoma!
But the good news is: they got it all!!!

If not for her daughter’s wedding, she may have waited too long and had a much different prognosis.

I went to the Dermatologist yesterday. I go once a year but I also go whenever I see something suspicious. I had 3 spots frozen.

Did you know melanoma can be on ANY part of your body, even your scalp - which is impossible to see on your own!

This shit is nothing...

The Younger the Better

aging health motivation Oct 17, 2017

This passage in the book I'm reading right now stopped me in my tracks when I read it... It was so impactful that I shared it at our recent coach retreat. And it caused a few tears to be shed.

Please read it and share it on your timeline. It is a message that needs to be heard by everyone, no matter their age - in fact, the younger, the better!

"You may think you're protecting yourself from judgment, rejection, or upsetting someone, but when you make excuses and talk yourself into waiting, you are limiting your ability to make your dreams come true.

I'm amazed by how much time I've wasted in my life waiting for the right time, waiting until I'm sure, waiting until I think my work is perfect, or waiting until I feel like it.

You may be afraid of finding out that you suck. Let me tell you what really sucks:

Being older and regretting that you never went for it.
Being 56 and realizing you should have divorced your spouse ten years ago.
Being 45 and wishing you had...
