Episode 111: Do You Know How Great You Really Are?

In this episode, I pulled from a series of excerpts in a book I'm reading called "Simple Abundance" by Sarah Ban Breathnach.

The excerpts are from her March readings really stuck with me when I read them (the book has 365 messages of abundance for each day of the year) because of the quotes she used to introduce the various topics that center around the authenticity, acceptance, and self care - the bottom line being: to celebrate the beauty that is within and love on it every day.

I captured the quotes below for those who like reading better than listening. :)

  1. "Until you make peace with who you are, you'll never be content with what you have." -- Doris Mortman
  2. "We are not born all at once, but by bits. The body first, and the spirit later. Our mothers are racked with the pains of our physical birth; we ourselves suffer the longer pains of our spiritual growth." -- Mary Antin
  3. "So many women just don't know how great they really are. They come to us all vogue outside and vague...

Episode 110: A Boudoir Photography Experience: It’s More Than Just Photos with Tanya Smith

career Apr 25, 2021

Today’s guest is Tanya Smith, a women’s boudoir portrait photographer since 2011. She shares her story about how she happened upon this interesting field of photography because she “fell in love with how a boudoir session can change the way a woman sees herself.”

She says she was married to the wrong guy for 17 years which left her facing divorce at age 44 and having to start over from scratch, as a single mom. She decided to get into photography but had no experience which led to self doubt - especially when her divorce lawyer told her that she would "never make money in photography" and that she “should get a real job.”

Instead of letting those words defeat her and derail her dreams, she let them fuel her, and now, at age 53, she’s got a very successful business and is happily remarried. Now with a great supportive guy, she says: the sky’s the limit!

Her best advice is: “No matter how hard things are, or how many people...

Episode 109: The Gift of Imperfection

In this episode, I felt compelled to share a lesson inspired by my student community that came from a recent coaching session. In the session, one student voiced she had "fallen off the wagon," while on vacation, losing what she had felt was great momentum.

I sensed she felt real disappointment in herself and realized this as a great teaching moment about abundance for this podcast series, especially since I, the coach and teacher, had just experienced a similar fall off of the wagon. In fact, the day of our coaching session was the same day I had gotten home from a 5 day vacation.

So today I share the following "fell off the wagon" abundant lessons:

  • Why we must stop beating ourselves up for getting out of our healthy routines!
  • The abundance I found on my recent trip to Florida.
  • Why fear keeps us in a lack state.

Episode 108: This Voice Actor Found Her Way By Listening To Her (Inner) Voice with Therese Plummer

career spirituality Apr 19, 2021

My latest guest is Thérèse Plummer, an actor and award-winning audiobook narrator, who lives and works in The Big Apple. She has recorded over 500 audio books for various publishers and won the 2020 Audie Award for her collaborative work on "The Only Plane In The Sky: An Oral History of 9/11" by Garrett M. Graff which garnered Audiobook of the Year!

Thérèse was a complete stranger to me when we logged onto Zoom for this interview as I had coordinated the interview through her publicist, but we instantly connected. She's the first actor I've interviewed and I so enjoyed hearing her backstory from being a rebel as a teenager to making the decision, at the last minute, to not go the traditional route of college, and instead followed an inner calling, moving to New Your City to become an actor.

We cover a lot of topics that I think you'll find relatable, but the main thing I came away with is that I believe Thérèse is an old soul, wise beyond...

Episode 107: The Thrill of Thrift

In this episode, I share my first lesson in a book I ordered last month when I was looking to delve deeper into living from a more abundant state of mind. But before I talked about the lesson which brought back a wonderful memory, I explained a bit about the author and her back story.

By the end of this episode, you'll have learned:

  • The struggles that led the author to write this book.
  • Some amazing quotes from the author that you'll want to write down.
  • How the adventure of thrifting is far from a lack mindset.
  • About my amazing Aspen thrifting experience!

Do you visit thrift or consignment stores? If so, how does thrifting make you feel? If not, are you ready to plan your first adventure? Reach out to me on social media and let me know if this episode has inspired you to take action...

Episode 106: Changing Your Life 1 Pound at A Time with Lisa Asbell

I had so much fun interviewing my latest guest, Lisa Asbell, a southern dynamo who exudes energy and sass! She is one of my favorite interviews because she was so easy to talk to and she made me LOL, more than once!

Lisa speaks from a place of gratitude about life that will surely rub off on you. As she says: "You just need to love yourself to get started."

She's a married, mother of three AND grandmother of three. She grew up poor but had a big drive to succeed from a very young age. She is a Registered Nurse turned entrepreneur and business professional with an extensive background in sales and motivational speaking, training, and coaching.

In this episode, Lisa talks honestly about her big midlife shift which happened in September 2019 when she decided to stop lying to herself that it was it was OK to be 100+ pounds overweight and "that everything is just fine because my blood work is good." That was then she decided to turn her life around, one food choice at a time.

Episode 104: The Cookbook Coach: Cookbooks Are Her Craft And Could Be Yours Too with Maggie Green

In this episode I got to chat with Maggie Green, owner of the Green Apron Company and host of the podcast Cookbook Love, learn all about her lifelong passion for cooking and how it transformed into a cookbook writing and coaching career.

Maggie took her experience as a Culinary Dietitian and Cookbook Author to the next level when she decided to take the knowledge and lessons she'd learned along the way and help others create cookbooks - so she created the "Get Paid to Get Published" method and program.

I loved hearing Maggie's back story about how she ended up working for the grandson of Irma Rombauer, the author of "The Joy Of Cooking" and the inspiring story of Irma.

What I also found fascinating is what a wide variety of cookbook ideas there are and how publishers are always looking for good cookbooks so you don't have to spend your own money to self publish.

What Maggie has done is a perfect example of how you can turn the wisdom gained from a career into a profitable online...

Episode 103: Welcome To My New Abundance Series!

Welcome to Episode #1 of my new Abundance Series!!! If you're here and committed to listening every week, I'm excited to be on this abundaventure with you!!!

As I've been delving into this whole abundance thing, I've realized it's so much more than what I originally thought... which is why I felt so inspired to learn more and share it with you.

It's not just spending 2 to 3 minutes writing 3 things I'm grateful for in my "Good Days Start With Gratitude" journal. It's living in a grateful state for as many of my waking hours as possible. It's being aware of all of the good around me.

I've always felt like I'm a very positive and optimistic person, but abundance goes so much deeper than that. Those are personality traits which I think to a large degree are a part of my gene pool.

But abundance is a state of being that we all have the choice to live from, no matter what our personality traits.

And to be perfectly honest, I think my state was often one of lack, wanting what I didn't...

Episode 102: If Your Ancestors Are Dead, How Can They Still Be Affecting You? Conversation with Cyndie Kramer

spirituality Mar 29, 2021

In this episode, my guest is Cyndie Kramer, an Ancestral Energy Healer & Coach, who empowers women in midlife to find their voice and finally start saying YES to themselves, by releasing unresolved family patterns that have been holding them back from living fully.

After over 20 years working in land use planning for local governments, Cyndie was called to follow her personal passion for ancestral exploration and use it to help other women.

Through many hours of family research, she has developed a gift for seeing each woman's life as a unique soul journey while at the same time being intricately linked to the lives of the family that came before her.

She helps women in midlife understand and transform the patterns of feminine wounding in their family history so they can finally uncover who they are, why they are here and what they want to do with the rest of their lives.

In 2020, Cyndie launched her ancestral healing and coaching practice, Ancestress Awakening.

Here are the...
