Episode 267: The Lesson In Creating More Structure

lessons learned series Oct 15, 2022

Today's topic was inspired by an old lesson that was reintroduced to me when I added and had to adjust accordingly to a whole 40 hour work week onto my already-busy schedule running my coaching business.

I've been a firm believer in the power of planning for a long time and I know how life-changing it can be when you build structure into your day, but I was not building enough structure which meant I was not gaining the most benefit possible.

And the funny thing is is that I didn't even realize how loosey-goosey the structure of my day had become until I was forced to add more as a result of all of the tasks added to my plate juggling two jobs.

It's really been a blessing in disguise because it's caused me to reflect on how much time I was wasting by lacking structure and how that has affected my productivity and energy. I was going through the motions but my planning was half-assed. And this lesson has reinforced not just my belief but also my passion about how vital it is...

Episode 265: [JFDI #7] She Finally Bought Her Dream Car!

Today I'm sharing something that one of my students FINALLY just friggin' did... She bought her dream car!!!

She first put it on her Vision Board in March of 2021 and now it's parked in her driveway giving her a little spark every time she sees it and especially when she gets to go out and drive it!

In this episode I share why she almost put the purchase on hold and how what she did is so common for us to do. It might even be something you are doing right now with something that you desire.

Listen in and hear how my probing questions led her to the aha moment she needed and the reason that was keeping her from taking the action she really wanted to take.

Finding the answer that was inside of her all along was key because it allowed her to move forward, not stay stuck in inaction, and build the confidence she needed to know that she has all it takes to make her own decisions and go after the things she desires. And by now having this lived experience, she's inspired others with her...

Episode 263: The Lesson in the Three Gates

lessons learned series Sep 30, 2022

This lesson came from a combination of a guided meditation session AND an incident with my husband having to do with my new desk.

This incident happened last weekend but the meditation session didn't come until 4 days later - I love delayed lessons that come from sitting quietly in a meditative state!

It was a message that definitely resonated with me and I needed to receive. And when I got that lesson, I knew I had to share it with my listeners.

This is one great example of why I love the guided meditations by Tamara Levitt in the Calm app. I usually get some kind of necessary lesson.

This particular guided meditation was called "Kind Communication" and my communication certainly didn't fall into the kind category last weekend. But fortunately I caught myself and self-corrected.

We're human so we often forget to lead with kindness in our communication because we do it to get OUR needs met (ego) vs. thinking about what the other person needs. So this lesson was a great...

Episode 261: The Lesson In Being Present

lessons learned series Sep 24, 2022

In today's episode I share how valuable it was to be present as I vacationed with friends at the beach last week and the 4 examples that are so simple, yet most of us rarely do and when we do, we don't really tune in and appreciate those experiences.

Listen in and hear the other 3 things that truly made me feel so much more connected to the people around me and, more importantly, to myself.

I came back from this short 5 day trip more relaxed, more peaceful, and continuing to be more present than I've felt in awhile. This experience made me realize that these present moments are all around us all day, every day, so I find myself, in my day to day, much more aware of when I feel myself too focused on what's ahead and hasn't happened yet or fretting about what's already happened.

And since I'm now so much more aware of how good it makes me feel to be focused on the present moments, I can more easily shift my mind there.

If you enjoyed this episode, please leave a review and...
